Raleigh Organizing Against Racism (ROAR) is a network of anti-racism groups based in Wake County, North Carolina that host workshops, caucuses, and community meetings to advance racial equity. Most of the participants in ROAR activities are alumni of at least one of the two-day Racial Equity Institute (REI) Anti-Racism workshops. These workshops are hosted by ROAR.
Prior to participation in a Workshop, attending a Ground Water Presentation is recommended. Ground Water provides an introduction to Racial Equity and the systemic framework of racism.
What is ROAR ?
Our workshops are designed to bring together local participants in the anti-racism who want to support each other while deepening their understanding of how to be effective anti-racists.
ROAR supports relationship building to workshop participants through caucusing that help develop awareness about how racism lives in each of us and in our institutions so that we may be strong, organized, and clear in our efforts to dismantle racism.
Community meetings are public events held quarterly. These meetings have been held virtually, but are moving to locations within the community.
